Abstract
The article deals with the mythological base, symbols and archetypes in the epitaphs of England, the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth and Crimean Khanat of the period of the Renaissance and Baroque. The texts by John Milton, Jan Kochanowski and Mudzemi are emphasized. The biographical moment of Benjamin Jonson, who was the author of the epitaph to his son, is involved as auxiliary material.
